My new needle book – starting
For a very long time now I have been in a constant war with my sewing needles ๐ I have managed to break at least 3 whilst stitching – they just snap in my fingers. I have managed to sit on loose ones, step on them too, and am losing them all the time. My husband was very cross with me when I started to use our living room couch as a pincushion. ๐
To remedy the situation I decided to make myself a needle book. You can buy so many nice ones online, but I really want to try to make one. As I am Latvian, I have a soft spot for anything from my home country. There is a very famous historic belt pattern from a place I come in Latvia called “Lielvฤrdes josta”. The translation would be – the belt of Lielvarde. What I love in it is the symbolism and the fluid pattern changes. It is always red on white, so the colours are very eye catching.
Here it is! It is going quite slow as I am stitching it on linen one over one. Wish me good luck and not to lose my eyesight ๐
